Publisher's Synopsis
The purpose of this book is to examine in a multidisciplinary perspective the environmental problems which confront Europe in a period of rapid agricultural change. A three part structure considers first technological issues, which leads on to a discussion of policy impacts, constraints and trends. This in turn introduces studies of national land-use policy strategies in five countries. The book concludes with an examination of the relationship between technology and the environment, and considers the likely future course of environmental management in European agriculture.
