Publisher's Synopsis
Ohio has an incredibly broad range of habitats for birds, from the northern shores of Lake Erie to the long and winding Ohio River on its eastern and southern borders. Some of the most diverse woodlands in the United States can be found in the steep Appalachian region to the east and south. There are numerous wetlands and marshes in the Great Black Swamp region of the northwest. The Magee Marsh Wildlife Area, one of the world's most well-known birding locations, is located along the edge of Lake Erie. During the spring and fall, tens of thousands of birds halt along their migratory pathways in this area, known as the "warbler capital of the world."
