A little more than a decade ago, during 2008-11, the blog Mirror of Tomorrow used to have regular postings related to the themes of poetry, under the general title Poetry Time. But the platform on which these had appeared ceased to function afterwards and Mirror of Tomorrow also got discontinued. In one of the posts therein a thread got developed around technique and inspiration in the poetry of Savitri. While the metrical base is an important element in rhythmic measure and movement of a composition, it is the inspiration with its natural pace and grace that gives authenticity to it. The fine points of poetic technique and inspiration, finding their own mould of expression and it carrying with it significance and responsiveness greatly support each other. This discussion, essentially in the context of Savitri, brings out the artistic excellence that is there in it, in Savitri.
