DC. 20390.was left on station in an attempt to obtain use ful data on the near-surface conditions, but it was never recovered because it apparently was carried away in one of the severe gales that crossed the Grand Banks during May 1968. The surface buoy washed ashore near Skull, Ireland in early January 1969. Station data acquired during the monitoring of the buoy system are presented in the Tables of Oceanographic Data (appendix A) no analysis is presented at this time.
