Publisher's Synopsis
Occupational Hygiene concerns the interaction between man and his working environment in so far as it affects health. The purpose of this book is to provide a clear and concise account of the principles of occupational hygiene. It covers such areas as exposure to noxious substances in factories, objects falling from a partially completed building onto a workers head, the effects of noise and vibration, scalding by wayward coffee machines, irradiation of nuclear workers, and so on. It is not concerned with the treatment of such injuries, but with their assessment, measurement and prevention.
