In these two injunctions the complex duty of the christian is enjoined. First, that God should be revered, his law obey ed. Second, that the king, or civil government, should be honored, a submission to its requirements, should be prao ticed by the disciple of Jesus. If in this land we have no king, civil authority should be none the less respected.
