The current global nature of our society caused in an increased interest in global education in academia. Implementing global education within college curricula is expected to prepare students to function as global citizens in a diverse world where technology continues to bring people together from all over the world. It also increases students' opportunities to pursue careers in international settings. Undergraduate health professions in specific have increasingly sought to incorporate a global perspective into the curriculums in order to enhance the students' total college experience and prepare them as global citizens seeking to improve health of populations abroad.
