Publisher's Synopsis

for solo piano Commissioned by the Atopos Fondazione in Italy, this piece was premiered by John Tilbury on 10 June 2008. A homage to Morton Feldman and a companion piece to his Triadic Memories, Skempton's Notti stellate a Vagli conjures up images of Tuscany, though it is, in the composer's words, 'nocturnal tone and stellar texture'.
