This, however, has been done for the benefit of those who have not had the advantage of a theoretical training and to whom a book of this character would be of little use were they not supplied with a few elementary principles by which means they may learn to use and understand these Formulae; Most of the Rules and Formulae herein given are taken from authorities and standard works on the subject, although perhaps appearing in new form for the purpose of making them more simple.
Amendments to certain requirements and specifications for standard appliances have been included.
