Kaya and Jamaal were young and scared when they did what they did. They knew it was the noble, right thing to do, but it still wounded them to their core. Kaya never made peace with their decision, and when their son, Tommy, died in an aviation accident life became almost unbearable for her.
Kaya's struggle to be a loving wife to Jamaal and an attentive daughter to Graham is more difficult than ever. With no children to call her own, her life falls apart.
