Noluthando The Secrecy is a book about keeping secrets and running way from the truth. The main character thinks that she's doing everyone a favor by comforting them with lies because she's afraid to hurt them with the truth. She thinks that it is love..... At the beginning she's in her bedroom admiring her life until her husband Mpendulo carries on with his vengeance. The story is not in a chronicle order there are flashbacks and memories of her past that helps to better understand where she comes from and why she's doing what she's doing. Later two brothers are introduced, Sipho and Sizwe which were involved in the murder of Mpendulo's parents, he sent Noluthando to help him seek his revenge because he thought that his beautiful wife could fool any man. Mpendulo also risked everything by not telling his wife that she's pregnant in the beginning, he was blinded by his passion for revenge that he forgot to treat his wife as a wife and not a tool. We find out that later on in the story that Thando was involved in the murder too and was caught right in the middle of the unknown war. She chose to stick with the brothers she once knew from her past because she thought that she had failed as a wife to help Mpendulo forget the case. Mpendulo was left in the dark and soon had found a way to reach Thando and the brothers.... What happens next is unfortunate for everyone. The baby, Thando, Mpendulo and the brothers had to pay a big price... The main themes of this book are the truth, secrets, the power of forgiveness, crime, fear and love. In the end love is what saved them all. Once you start reading you'll want to know more because it's a bit puzzling and mysterious.Mpendulo's proverb is also included in the book it is all about Mpendulo's side of the story... A mad man he calls himself and a dead man walking! His quest is to find answers and to find out the killers of his parents and where his sister is. Since his parents died and he hasn't found the answers he's been looking for his life is being haunted by the past. He cannot forget the past...... He cannot move on and he can never find peace in his heart.....he only wants the answers.....By making two sides of the story I'm trying to describe how we can be so wrong to judge a person from one point of view. It's funny because no one is right or wrong; we can find sympathy for both of them by understanding where they are coming from and why they are doing what they are doing. When a secret is kept one finds things to fill in the gaps... And sometimes they might believe in things that don't exist the truth can be anything for them. Mpendulo and Noluthando are two different people although they are in love with each other they both have different pasts and personalities and reasoning.
