Publisher's Synopsis
For a long time, goats with a "broken" gene were simply expelled from the herd. The practice of eliminating such animals has been used practically throughout the world. The only exceptions were the enterprises of some Central African states. Here, dwarf goats, on the contrary, were in high demand. The reason is their unpretentiousness to the food base and the excellent quality of milk and meat.
In the XVIII century, mini goats came to Europe. According to one version, this happened thanks to whalers, traders and just travelers who took animals on board to replenish the diet. Dwarf goats took up less space, did not require special care and nutrition, which made it possible not only to keep them, but also to breed them on ships.
Another version of the goat resettlement suggests that these animals were purposefully brought from Africa for breeding in Europe and North America.
