Publisher's Synopsis
This collection of articles was originally published in the Sunday bulletins of the parishes where Father Hurlbert has served over the past twenty years. They focus on issues that might be inappropriate for a homily, or too delicate to be handled in the seven to ten minutes priests are given to speak at Mass. The particular topics chosen emerged as a result of processing articles or books, or are commentary on issues that seemed relevant to the lives of parishioners. He mines interesting metaphors for the spiritual life, and shares a bit of his own experience with the hope that readers might be encouraged and challenged, giving them something that can lead to direct application in their lives or in their prayer.
