Publisher's Synopsis
Vampire life-mates Zach Matthews and Emma Christensen prepare for their happily-ever-after by submitting to a marriage ceremony in Indiana, primarily for her human parents. Their joy lasts only a day or two into their southwestern honeymoon. They learn Alexander Byrne and a band of bounty hunters, acting at the behest of the couple's former nemesis, Francisco Navarre, plan to capture and destroy them.
The newlyweds flee to California to find security within Zach's former circle and its new leader, Oliver Younger. But, alone on the beach one night, even with two vampire friends standing guard, Alexander abducts Zach. Emma, Oliver, and a band of warriors follow the captors into the Nevada desert. Acting alone and flexing newfound powers, Emma locates the stronghold where Alexander secures Zach. Only then does she discover he's been drugged and hovers on the brink of death. She escapes with Zach and races back to Oceanside, carrying Zach to her friends' compound where the vampire Elders retrieve his lifeless body. A grief-stricken Emma tries to forge on without her life-mate, but how can she continue to evade Alexander and the hunters without him? And, what about her decision to be changed back to human? Will it make the situation even worse for her, and her friends and family?
