This image-based interactive program on computer disk provides a broad overview of clinical mycology. Emphasis is placed on the diagnosis of fungal diseases - based on the identification of various fungi. Intended for students and practitioners of clinical laboratory science, medical students, pathologists, infectious disease specialists and primary care practitioners, the tutorial uses microscopic images supported with overlays of descriptive text to teach the user how to accurately identify fungi. A final exam allows the user to self-evaluate comprehension of material.
