Publisher's Synopsis
ABOUT THE BOOK: Full of even more heartwarming and humorous moments from a well-lived life, My Wonderful Chaos is a collection of stories about family and friends and the good stuff. Readers will be transported to a world quite different from the norm. It is, however, a world full of love, laughter, family, and gifts left on the floor by the old dog. The good, the bad, and the absolutely impossible to explain make this book a unique and entertaining read. FROM THE BOOK: There are several deaf people in my life. This is because I have two deaf stepchildren, Evelyn and Lee. They go to the school for the deaf. My wife, Sally, is a sign language interpreter. She kinda fell into this profession as a result of learning to sign along with the kids when they were young. ... In the few years we have been together, my kids have learned to sign pretty well. Me, on the other hand, well, let's just say it has been a difficult journey. I get a bit confused at times. The hand gestures and positions can take on a whole new meaning by simply turning your hand the wrong direction or raising a wrong finger. I once told Evelyn on a stormy July day that she could not go outside because it was snowing (rain and snow have similar signs for an amateur like me). I also told her that she would be going to school as soon as her sister was finished with her period (I meant to say dentist). Evelyn thinks I am a bit odd. I get odd looks sometimes from individuals when I attempt to sign. Only the lord knows what I am really saying to them. I have not been slapped yet, but give me time. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: L. E. Hewitt resides in Indiana with his wife, seven children, two dogs, and four cats. He continues to live life to the fullest and to tell the world about it through his writing.
