Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from My Days With Uncle Sam
In 1919 he returned from Mesopotamia' where he had gone as an Electrical Power Station Superintendent with the Expeditionary Force He must have been very busy there, for his valuable services were specially mentioned in the London Gazette of the 2lst February 1919, by Lieutenant General W. R. Marshall K. C. B., K C. S. I., Commander-in-chief of the Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force. But still he managed to make time to write a book which 'he submitted to me for inspection with the following remarks - Don't think that any idea of self advertisement made me write these things. I was shocked to hear in Mesopotamia the death of my great friend, Mr. Myron H. Phelps of New York. 1 was sorry that I could not be present in his funeral and failed to obtain even the details of his death. I hope this little volume will stand as a monument to his loved memory and to the deep regard I had for him.
