Publisher's Synopsis

In these proceedings, multiple objective analysis is discussed in relation to water resources planning and management, watershed and river basin management, stormwater management and other water resources projects. The explicit consideration of multiple objectives in decision making is increasingly becoming a common phenomenon among modelers and systems analysts. As a result, their work has become more useful to decision makers, who must face multiple objectives in many decisions. One of the reasons for this positive development may be attributed to the maturity of the fields of systems engineering and operations research. In these proceedings, multiple objective analysis is defined, institutional requirements for its more successful use are identified. It is stated that multiple goals, objectives, attributes, and users characterize most water resources issues.
