The steps in this book are fundamental principles and tasks necessary in the pursuit of excellence in any call (or chosen profession). The Bible says that God has given us everything that pertains to life and Godliness (2 Peter 1:3), so we have everything we need to move to our next level and be all that God has created us to be. God put his extraordinary in us, so, we're equipped with the tools necessary to be our best self. We have what it takes to move in God's best in every dimension. There's no magic involved. We can't just "wait on the Lord" and expect his best to happen. We must be willing to put our best foot forward and take the necessary steps to get to our next level. Every step counts and there are times we need to do a little tweaking here and there. That's what this book is about; BIG things that mark the distinction between mediocrity and excellence, difference that gets you to YOUR next level, the one after that, the next and the next. Timothy tells us to stir up the gift that's within us (2 Timothy 1:6). That means it's already there. Once we get a glimpse through the Word of what God has created in us from the beginning, the Holy Spirit will have something to work with. He'll impart the confidence you need to never again ask permission to be who you know you are deep down inside. We've all looked at others whose stars seem to progressively rise. They appear to just have it all together. They've got something but how did they get it. Were they born with it? What do they know and how do they know it? What are the steps they follow? People who progressively move to the next level share commonalities that cause them to stand out and move forward. They have discipline, perhaps not in every area but in areas that matter. For example: -They're always on time; never late -They do the things other people won't do -They arrive early and stay late -They don't watch the clock and focus on the hours; they focus on getting the job done -They dare to think in fresh, new ways -They seek different perspectives -Their decision-making process is multifaceted in the scope of considering varied dynamics -They don't play the blame game, but take responsibility for their actions and decisions -They know themselves well enough to know what trips them up or causes them to stumble -They do due diligence; homework on people and situations The steps of a good person are ordered by the Lord (Psalm 37:23) so there are no secrets in getting to your next best level. While not conclusive, this book shares some steps that will help you tremendously. It looks at such principles as being authentically who you are, those in your inner circle, the importance of doing your homework on every level, being excellent on every level. Whatever place in life you find yourself, you can begin on step one and move to your next level in your divine destiny.
