Trying to rally support for a National Park Service, thirty influential men were taken camping in the Sequoia area with one very talented cook. Tie Sing had mountains in his blood and big plans in his head, and, in 1915, his cooking--and planning--skills were challenged on this important trip. Every morning and night, Tie Sing created gourmet meals, despite the challenges of backcountry cooking and setbacks like runaway pack mules.
