Mother Earth has been caring for a different kind of friend, Snake Adder, who has two heads. She was unaware of just how the boys and girls had become scared of him. This book also introduces the character Breeze, who is Wind's younger brother. They both were unable to help Snake Adder on the day he needed their help the most. Instead Breeze started to show off. So Mother Earth chooses to safeguard the future happiness of the boys and girls, as she had missed them platting her long grass and swinging from her trees among many other things. She had noticed that they played mainly on the concrete or indoors. This book also highlights that differences can be overlooked and should be, except when it has a bad impact on others.
