Publisher's Synopsis
"Morning Exercises For All The Year" outlines a systematized ritual for morning exercises in elementary classrooms with the aim of teaching morals and forming character. Daily reflections (rather than lessons) are given on the virtues of famous individuals, national events, artists, etc related to the day.
This provided the children a history lesson, and more importantly, real world examples of great achievements through strong character and virtue. Every bit as relevant today as it was when it was first published in 1914, the book is an excellent way to capture a child's attention on topics in such a way that, when presented as a "lesson", they would not have ordinarily been interested.
