Publisher's Synopsis
It's the 1960s, and David White is a twenty-six-year-old introvert who doesn't have a phone or a television. He lives alone in a tenement in Philadelphia and walks to work. David wants to marry and have a family, but he doesn't have love. And he doesn't think he ever will, though his heart aches for it. He knows that he should change, wants to change, but doesn't know how. Then, one day, a bully presses a gun barrel against David's forehead and threatens to pull the trigger.
