Harry Bates is a well-established actor in the horror film industry, renowned for playing all manner of grisly creatures on-screen. He has grown cynical of the genre since it doesn't scare him anymore, though it is well paid. Ghouls and zombies just aren't scary when you know they can't exist, it's people that can be the real monsters. His everyday routine takes an unexpected turn when a number one fan, Nathan, shows up with a script for Harry to read. When Harry turns him down the evening turns sour as fandom drifts from the keen to the perverse.
