Publisher's Synopsis
For millennia, the mythic natural tower called Starreach - the high plateau where the ancestors of human beings first came to earth - lay hidden from the rest of the world, forgotten by all but a handful of the world's most learned scholars. But it did not stand abandoned. A terrible remnant creature, the Manshadow, last survivor of an ancient war, set a barrier around the lands encircling the citadel he took for his own, over a thousand years before. Thereafter he ruled over his world through fear, until no one remained in his realm who did not cower in fear of the night - save for a desperate few runaways, the Wanderers, dwelling underground in constant fear of discovery. The sun has gone orange. The stars have all but gone out. Storms ravage their borderlands and a great ring, the Dayring, has formed in the sky, darkening their evenings and mornings into twilight. And a lost hunter named Ellaran, forgotten by the world but chosen by destiny, has rediscovered the ancient home of mankind - and he must destroy the Manshadow to return home.
