Publisher's Synopsis
The fourth seminar in this well-established series on modelling of activated sludge processes gave an up-to-date overview of the status of modelling and the new developments in the field. The papers in this volume cover aspects of biomass and modelling, storage and hydrolysis, decay and maintenance, phosphorus precipitation and model development and calibration. A number of papers deal with tools and techniques for characterising the biomass. Factors affecting rates of hydrolysis and decay are also considered. Of particular interest to those scientists following the IAWQ Activated Sludge Models will be the paper by Gujer et al which introduces the Activated Sludge Model No. 3.
