Publisher's Synopsis
This title examines the Christian approaches of Protestant churches to Burmese Buddhists in Yangon city. It shows that the impact of Christian communication with the Burmese Buddhists has been unsatisfactory and concludes with twelve recommendations, the most important of which are that all mission initiatives should be directed towards the goal of a contextual conversion, where the converts remain within their Burmese culture and community and towards the goal of establishing contextual Burmese congregations.
