At the period (1834-5) when the present Committee, under the more extended title of Educational Society, determined on erecting a distinct institution, and transferrin the masters and system to it, it was agreed that. The funds shou d not be burdened with the old debt, as you will find stated in our last report. This debt we need not have incurred had we chosen to raise the school fees, thus virtually turning out the poor, for whose benefit the system was primarily intended.
