Publisher's Synopsis
This report consists of the Executive Summaries from two reports commissioned by the Department of the Environment. The two studies were "Migration and the Metropolis" and "Business Relocation: the Case of the South East". The general aim of the two projects was to help build up a picture of what was happening to population and business movement in the South East at the end of the 1980s. The research was designed to inform and contribute to regional planning guidance - but has wider implications for regional planning policy.
