I attempt to cover general geologic reference materials as well as a guide for geotechnical and environmental soil and rock logging. This is a reference book. It is not a teaching guide. I drew heavily from what I was taught, my personal experiences, and what is practical in the field.The book is applicable to geology in the Midwest (Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, and southern Ontario)
