I also recommend the prohibition, by law, of the pernicious prac tice of issuing, what is denominated post notes, by the banks, or notes payable at a future day. This is a violation of, the spirit and principles of all judicious banking; - it is a dangerous power to be exercised by the banks, and it will, ultimately, enable them to evade most of our penal laws.
