Mental Maths in Minutes 7-9 provides a systematic approach to teaching and learning number facts. Each Mental Maths sheet is split into four columns that can be cut into strips and handed out to the class once photocopied. The children have one minute to answer as many questions as they can and are scored according to the number of correct answers. Specific skills such as addition, subtraction, doubling, halving, multiplying and dividing are addressed repeatedly, but each time at a higher level of understanding. Children are challenged by the timing aspect of the question strips and encouraged to improve on their own scores.
