Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Memorials of the Life and Character of Lady Osborne and Some of Her Friends, Vol. 1 of 2
The following compilation requires an explanation as to its object and its origin. Amongst the relics I possess of one so loved and honoured as was my mother in her lifetime, sundry autograph letters hold the first place in value and I have long wished to publish these testimonials to her worth, relying upon the interest attached to the writers, their fame being of not a' restricted nature.
It is an excellent rule that has been brought to my know ledge, in consequence of this desire, that no private letters can be published without the consent of the writers or their representatives.
