John alsop king, late President of the New York Historical Society, departed this life on Wednesday, November 21, 1900. He was descended from an English family, the first member of which in this country, John King, came from Kent, England, about the year 1700, and settled in Boston. John King left, by his second wife, several children, of whom the eldest, Richard, was born in Boston in 1718.
