Hon. John alden was one of the principal persons, and the last male survivor of the band of Pilgrims, who came to Plymouth in the May Flower in 1620. With few exceptions, and these mostly of recent date, all persons in this country bearing the name of alden are his descendents. Of each of these who. Is at the head of a family, it is the plan of this work to give, as far as the facts are at hand, the name, residence, occupation of males over twenty-one years of age, date of birth, and, if deceased, of death, parentage and social position.
