Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Memoirs of the Life of David Ferris
In his early minority David Ferris was favored with a remarkable Divine visitation, under which he was made willing to renounce all the ensnaring allurements incident to that period of life. Whilst he was careful to live in a state of watchfulness and prayer, the knowledge of divine things was unfolded to his understanding, and, by dwelling under the cross of Christ, his yoke became easy and his bur den light; childish vanities were distasteful to him to use his own language the world and the things thereof lost all their lustre, in his sight.
