Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Memoir of John Sharp, Late Superintendent of Croyden School
The present work may appear to some an uncalled-for addition to the already numerous class of religious biographies. It has been thought, however, that there are many who had the privilege of an acquaintance with the subject of this Memoir, - more especially those who received their education and training under him at Croydon, - who would gladly become acquainted with the more private character of one whom they so justly esteemed and loved. And, although there were not many striking incidents in his life to interest the more general reader, it can, perhaps, hardly be, that such a course can be carefully and seriously traced, without additional evidence being afforded of the loving kind ness and faithfulness of the Lord; while a little stimulus may be given to use all diligence to make our calling and election sure, knowing that time is.
