Publisher's Synopsis
Marcus Aurelius's Meditations are here presented in Gerald H. Rendall's translation of 1901, which balances accuracy, style, and readability.
This edition of the Rendall translation is set in the Doves Type, a typeface designed c. 1900 for the Doves Press of London, inspired by Nicolas Jenson's early roman types of the fifteenth century. Jenson's press at Venice was important to the tradition of classical and humanistic scholarship from which Rendall descended.
