Publisher's Synopsis
This is a poetic, sometimes humorous and often spiritual journey through the author's thoughts, observations and emotions in the year 2018. The 153 selections include a variety of poetic styles - free verse, rhyme, brevity, haiku, spoken word and prose which reflect the author's love of faith, family and the beautiful West Michigan area he calls home. Titles range from When I Worship to Ode To My Big Toe, from Haiti 2018 to Dune Buggy Ride, and from Late One Clear Bethlehem Night to Of Course The Earth Is Flat. The title Measure Once, Read Twice comes from the author's belief that poetry should be both enjoyable and understandable, but for that to happen there are some writes that reveal more after a second or third read.
