Publisher's Synopsis
Mathematics, A Simple View is a 620 pager, whose approach to math is to use simple scenarios to demonstrate how relevant math is in our everyday lives. In fact, Mathematics, A Simple View is easy to read and easy to follow. It covers the fundamentals of Algebra at the intermediary level, as well as other topics, but is designed around and for the many who find math challenging. Except for two chapters, the book begins each chapter with either an every-day scenario or an illustration. This approach is intentional, as based on experience, many find it hard to identify with the subject. Hence a reader-like approach to mathematics was fomented. Mathematics, A Simple View, is replete with mathematical problems and the processes of their solutions and thus fuels a grounded understanding, and application thereof, of algebraic problems with their solutions. Also, not only does it include an appendix, which covers topics considered rudimentary, but throughout the body of the text, along with footnotes, makes references to varied topics in the book. Some topics covered include: Trigonometry (with sine and cosine rules); Quadratic Expressions and Equations; Simple Equations; Simple Functions and Graphical Functions
