Ms. Newmyer completed her undergraduate education at Adams State University in Colorado earning a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a minor in History with an emphasis in Secondary Education. She began teaching secondary mathematics in 2000. In 2011, she was awarded her Master's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Houston. Ms. Newmyer is a national lecturer on the topics of math and computer science education. She is currently teaching college mathematics. Ms. Newmyer is a 2018-2019 recipient of the Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship.
