It is alfo farther proved, that allowing the powers of attraction and re pulfion to be efiential to the very being of matter, it would, notwithf'tanding, be ut terly incapable of producing ferfation, re ?eflion, andyudgment It being juft as im pofiible for attrafiion andrepafion, however modified, to produce thefe'powers, as it is for a triangle or a fquare to become a circle.
