Publisher's Synopsis
Marc Mulders is known for his paintings, but this book focuses entirely on his photographs and photocollages. Once created solely as sketches for paintings, these works have increasingly become semi-autonomous images. Mulders composes objects, often with flowers, on the floor of his studio and photographs them with a cinematographer's discerning eye. The resulting images are eerie yet strangely beautiful--presented here, these photoworks underscore that process is crucial to an artist, and sometimes becomes a work of art in and of itself.
