Expanding upon a topic in manuscript studies that has in recent years attracted increasing attention from literary scholars, Manuscript Miscellanies explores important and distinguishing characteristics of early modern manuscript verse and prose miscellanies. Essays in this collection examine the nature and use of the manuscripts, their compilers-both men and women-the processes by which they were compiled, and the political, social, and cultural networks in which they were produced.
