The text Managing Global Genetic Resources: Agricultural Crop Issues and Policies examines the structure that underlies efforts to preserve genetic material, including the worldwide network of genetic collections, the role of biotechnology, and a host of issues that surround management and use. First chapter emphasizes the importance of plant genetic resources and discusses about aspects of costs involved in conservation and suggest recommendations for strengthening the area in Brazil. Second chapter focuses on agriculture germplasm resources. Third chapter deals with climate-smart agriculture global research agenda. Fourth chapter discusses ex situ conservation of biodiversity with particular emphasis to Ethiopia. The aim of fifth chapter is to emphasize the importance of in situ conservation of native cattle breeds and plant varieties in developing conservation policies. The objectives of sixth chapter are to review the status of China's agricultural biotechnology research and commercialization, and to gain a better understanding of China's policies governing both agricultural biotechnology research and its applications (or commercialization). Cryopreservation of spices genetic resources has been presented in seventh chapter. Diversity and genetic erosion of ancient crops and wild relatives of agricultural cultivars for food have been proposed in last chapter.
