Community Drug Agencies (CDAs) account for around two thirds of all drug agencies in England and consume roughly 50% of all expenditure on drugs-related services. This report outlines the findings of the first national study of their operational effectiveness.;The report looks at the scope and scale of CDAs in England and typologies for classifying what they do; establishes what is good practice in the overall management of CDAs and other services, such as needle exchange, and the extent to which they are being met; and gives clear and straightforward good practice guidelines which should help organizations benchmark where they are against others in the field.
