Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Man, the Microcosm and the Cosmos
HE following Poem was delivered before the Med ical Society of New Jersey at its Centennial Meet ing, held in Rutgers College, New Brunswick, N. J., January 24, 1866. Prepared amid the hurry and distrae tions Of other duties, and with special reference to the demands and limitations of the occasion, the Poem, as originally delivered, fell short Of the author's design, which was to produce, if possible, a tolerably complete compendium Of that noblest, most necessary, and yet, strange to say, that most neglected of all the sciences Anthropology - relieved Of some Of the dryness belong ing to the ordinary modes Of presentation.
