Publisher's Synopsis
This bibliography lists periodical articles and books on the social sciences dealing largely or exclusively with Madura, Bawean and the Kangean and Sapudi archipelago. Most of the 347 titles were published between 1860 and 1942. The bibliography is arranged chronologically and contains a list of some 70 periodicals from which articles have been selected, an author index and a subject index. The bibliographic descriptions include indications of one Dutch library holding each. A number of references to literature on the predominantly Madurese regencies in East Java has been added.
