Lorsque mon fr�re mourut je me promis, et je l'an nomeai pr�cipitamment, d'�crire sa vie. Voil� seize ans que Dieu nous l'a pris et, aujourd'hui seulement, je donne le premier volume de ce travail que, depuis le lendemain de sa mort, j'ai toujours d�sir� faire avant tout autre. Je me le devais, je le devais aux miens, je le devais au monde catholique et je n'ai pas �t� un seul jour je le dis � la lettre sans me le rappeler. Cependant, ce devoir si imp�rieux et si doux, j'ai paru le n�gliger. J'aifirme qu'il n'en est rien.
