Childhood, school days, young love, first love, and the days of youth are soon gone. Work, marriage, kids, more work, then you are a senior citizen wondering where the time went.
Relatives? Good or bad, we've all got'em. We meet a lot of people along the way. Some may be famous, others become lifetime friends, and some you have just as soon forgotten. Happiness, sorrow, struggles, triumphs, births, and death are common to us all, yet somehow, we soldier on. In Looking Beyond the Rearview Mirror, you will meet my family and share my seventy-seven-year journey. You will meet some famous people such as "Ali, Marty Robbins, and Marty Stuart," as well as some work stories from my thirty-seven-year career with American Airlines. Meet "George Adams Jefferson" and let his story touch your heart. All my writings come from the heart and are as honest as I can remember. No poem echoes those words more than "An Angel at Sam's Club." "Finger Lickin' Good" details one of my many embarrassing moments. The chapter "Faith is Fundamental" tells of my struggles that lead to hope and redemption. And so, dear reader, as you read this book, I wish for you that it brings a smile to your face, gives you a nostalgic look back, makes you appreciate today, and gives you hope for tomorrow.
